GEORGETOWN — The Hoopeston Area boys basketball team took a big first-quarter lead and went on to a 64-39 win over Georgetown-Ridge Farm on Friday.
Mason Rush had 18 points to lead the Cornjerkers, who had a 42-9 halftime lead, while Wyatt Eisenmann had 15, Kendrick Sigerill had 10, Trenton Montez had seven and Owen Root added five.
Jase Latoz had 12 points to lead the Buffaloes, while Williams Runyan had eight and JJ Hall added seven.
The Cornjerkers will host Chrisman on Tuesday, while the Buffaloes will play Armstrong-Potomac on Tuesday.
