WESTVILLE — Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin secured is second straight outright Vermilion Valley Conference boys basketball title on Tuesday night with a 50-42 triumph over Westville.
The Blue Devils (29-1 overall, 12-0 in the VVC) needed a big fourth-quarter rally to secure their 25th consecutive win in VVC play.
The Tigers (24-6, 10-2) actually held a 39-32 lead entering the game’s final eight minutes.
Junior guard Keison Peoples scored seven of his team-high 17 points in the final quarter as Bis-Henn/Ross-Al outscored Westville 18-3. Seniors Micah Stanford and Chaz Dubois were also in double figures for the Blue Devils with 12 points each.
Sophomore Aidan White had a game-high 25 points for the Tigers, but he was held to just one free throw in the game’s final eight minutes.
