WATSEKA — Junior Matthew Darling collected four of his team’s 11 hits as the Tigers overcame an early deficit to beat the Warriors 10-1 on Thursday.
Darling scored the team’s first run in the fourth on an RBI-double by Chance Quick to tie the game at 1-1 and then he delivered the go-ahead run-scoring single in the fifth.
Junior Easton Barney, who came into the game in the second, held Watseka to just two hits in the final 5.2 innings to get the victory. Barney also scored two of his team’s runs.
Quick, Ben Johnson and Alec Davis joined Darling with two RBIs as the Tigers improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the Vermilion Valley Conference.
