PREP BASEBALL: Hoopeston Area falls to LeRoy

LEROY — The Hoopeston Area baseball team fell behind early and could not recover in an 9-2 loss to LeRoy on Thursday.
Cole Miller had two hits with a solo home run for the Cornjerkers, who were down 5-0 in the third inning, while Reydon Montez had three hits, Dallas Sheppard had two hits and Isaiah Mobley had one RBI.
Brayden Cornelius had three strikeouts on the mound for Hoopeston Area, who will play Watseka on Monday.
