VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The Covington baseball team took Fountain Central’s best shot and returned it on Thursday.
The Trojans scored three runs in the first, but the Mustangs scored four in the bottom of the inning. Covington would then outscored Fountain Central 12-1 the rest of the way for an 15-5 win in five innings.
Davyn Green had two hits and three hits for the Trojans, while Cian Moore had a two-run home run, Kyler Zarn had two RBIs, Creux Rieman had two hits and an RBI, Landon Hardy had one RBI, Kyven Hill had three hits and AJ Ashbury had two hits. Kaden Smith had seven strikeouts to get the win.
Ayden Batchelor had a home run with two RBIs for Fountain Central, while Nolan Acton and Uriah Wildman each had one RBI.
