Prep Athlete of the Week, Maddison Hoechst of Mankato West

Mankato West sophomore Maddison Hoechst has been a key part of the West track and field team this spring.
At the Section 1AAA true team meet last week, Hoechst took second in the pole vault at 10-foot-0 and ninth in the long jump with a leap of 15-9 3/4, helping the Scarlets to a second-place finish with a team score of 906.5.
Last season as a freshman, Hoechst took third in the Big Nine Conference meet in the pole vault with a mark of 10-0.
