The Madelia junior wing is averaging 11.5 points this season, and he had a big game recently to help his team win.
Trailing by two at halftime, Madelia rallied for 68-59 win over Heron Lake/Okabena/Fulda, led by DeMaris, who scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half.
DeMaris has scored nearly 600 points in his career. He’s shooting 84.5% at the free-throw line this season and 74.5% for his career. He is a three-year starter and two-time All-Valley Conference selection.
DeMaris is a four-sport athlete, earning two trips to the state meet in cross country in the fall. In the spring, he competes with the track and field and golf teams.
