The Mankato East senior helped the boys basketball team finish second at the Class AAA tournament last weekend. It’s the best finish at the state tournament in program history, and Schweim was named to the all-tournament team.
This season, Schweim averaged 18.0 points and 7.8 rebounds, shooting 44.9% from the field, 38.7% on 3-pointers and 79.7% on free throws.
Schweim has 1,194 career points, which ranks sixth in team history, and he’s 12th in rebounds with 473.
Schweim is a two-time All-Big Nine Conference and all-city selection, and he’s been invited to play in the state All-Star game. He also received an academic all-state honor this season.
Schweim has signed with Minnesota State, where his older sister Mackenzie plays on the women’s team, to continue his basketball and academic careers.
