The owner of Power City Eatery on Third Street announced Wednesday afternoon that the business will soon shut its doors.
In a post on Facebook, Joe Hotchkiss said there isn’t a firm closing date for the business at 444 Third St., but, “we know it’s coming sooner rather than later.”
Hotchkiss also briefly addressed the issues leading to the decision to close.
“… the reality is, the past few years have been tough. While we weathered the storm of COVID-19, the relentless rise in food costs and operational expenses have taken a deep toll,” Hotchkiss said. “And as difficult as this decision is, it’s time for a new chapter — for ourselves, for our family, and for the future.”
Power City Eatery opened its doors for breakfast and lunch on Third Street in 2016 under the ownership of Hotchkiss, Michael Lewis and Kyle Bajor. Hotchkiss took over sole ownership of the restaurant in 2021.
