KEYSER, W.Va. — Landon Tysinger capped Potomac Valley’s three-run rally in the seventh with a walk-off knock, sending Post 64 to a 4-3 victory over Fort Cumberland Post 13 on Monday at Keyser High.
Hunter Harr began the Potomac Valley (5-11-1) offense in its final at-bat with a solo home run to left field.
Blake Jacobs followed with a double. With the bases loaded and one out, Tysinger singled to the left side to push the tying and winning runs across.
The score was level at 1 after six innings. An error on Liam Buck fly ball to center plated the go-ahead run, and Brady Moran’s RBI single made it 3-1 Fort Cumberland (1-6).
Lucas Williamson threw a gem to keep Potomac Valley in the game, tossing 6 2/3 innings of five-hit ball. He allowed three unearned runs, struck out five and walked one.
Trevor Baldwin, recording the final out of the seventh, was credited with the win.
Cole Ricker threw four solid innings of middle relief for Post 13, allowing a run on one hit. Coye Resh, the Fort Cumberland starter, surrendered a run on one hit in two frames.
Josef Sneathen doubled for Fort Cumberland, which out-hit Potomac Valley, 5-4. Post 13 pitching walked nine, and Post 64’s arms issued one.
Fort Cumberland, the two-time defending Maryland state champion, has lost four times by one run and dropped a two-run game this summer.
Post 13 hosts a crucial Mountain District game against Garrett County Post 71/208/214 on Tuesday night. Garrett, leading the 10-game series 4-1, can clinch its first league title since 2021 with a sweep.
Potomac Valley is at Berkeley Post 14 on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
