WYE MILLS — WVU Potomac State College has won 10 in a row after sweeping Chesapeake College on Wednesday.
The Catamounts (13-3, 6-0 NJCAA Region 20) won the first game 10-2 and the second 9-4.
In the first game, Potomac State led 5-1 after three innings before adding five runs in the sixth.
Three Catamounts hit home runs beginning with Jamie Kelly on a two-run shot in the third inning.
Eva Ochoa drove in three on a blast in the sixth inning, then Lindsay Mowery went back-to-back with a solo shot.
Chloe Greise (Bishop Walsh) allowed five hits and a walk with no earned runs and six strikeouts.
Skyla Compton and Braylee Corbin (Petersburg) each had two hits.
In the second game, Potomac State hit four home runs led by a pair by Corbin.
She went deep in the third inning for two runs, then hit a solo shot in the fifth.
Ochoa added a solo blast in the third and Compton hit a solo home run in the seventh.
Greise got the win across five innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and three walks with four punchouts.
Lacie Miller earned a save in two innings, allowing two hits and a run.
Corbin finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs while Hailey Massie (Keyser) and Kelly each had two hits.
The Catamounts begin a four-game stretch with Monroe (N.Y.) at home beginning on Saturday at noon.
The teams will play noon doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday.
