WASHINGTON, Pa. — WVU Potomac State College alum Graham Brown had his contract purchased by the Minnesota Twins on Friday.
Brown joins the Twins organization from the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League.
“Graham was everything you could ask for as a manager,” Wild Things manager Tom Vaeth said in a press release. “He worked extremely hard, was a great teammate, and just an overall joy to have in the clubhouse.”
Brown reached base in each of his first 11 games this season and had a 21-game on-base streak dating back to last season.
He also had a 17-game hitting streak snapped on Wednesday.
Brown hit .395 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and seven stolen bases.
He spent two seasons at Potomac State from 2020 to 2021.
In his sophomore season, he earned third-team All-American honors.
Against Cecil, he hit for the cycle, going 6 for 9 with a homer, two triples, two doubles, seven RBIs and six runs.
He slashed .496/.582/.784 with 17 doubles, four triples, five homers and 56 RBIs in his final season as a Catamount.
Brown finished his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina, playing for Potomac State grad Kevin Schnall.
He earned two Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week awards and was the Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week on April 10, 2023.
Brown made his professional debut last season with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
He earned Frontier League Player of the Week honors in May after going 12 for 22 with six RBIs and six stolen bases.
Brown slashed .279/.345/.453 with 103 hits, 26 doubles, 12 home runs and 53 RBIs.
“He specifically chose to come to Washington to get an opportunity with an organization, and we’re thrilled to have played a small part in making that happen,” Vaeth said. “We are going to miss Graham, but we are excited for the big things that lie ahead for him.”
Brown becomes the second Catamount active in affiliated baseball, joining Washington Nationals prospect Alexander Meckley.
