NEWBURYPORT — Local photographer Bob Watts will offer a sampling of his best work on May 21, from noon to 1 p.m. as part of the Greater Newburyport Village Talk at the Newburyport Senior/Community Center, 331 High St., Newburyport.
Known for his engaging images of the Greater Newburyport area, Many of Watts’s photos are shared in Facebook as part of his “Come Take a Walk with Me” postings. May is officially designated as Older Citizens month and there is no finer example than Bob as an active senior contributing significantly to his community, according to organizers.
“Being a Newburyport resident for ten years and retired for the last five, I love strolling our streets and exploring the area on my bicycle, capturing ‘beauty in the ordinary’ with my Nikon camera,” Watts said.
Watts was employed by Nikon for 37 years, during which time he honed his skills and developed a keen eye. He is a board member of the Museum of Old Newbury and is very active in the organization. He regularly photographs its events and grounds, museum-sponsored neighborhood garden tours, and even curiosities from the museum’s attic.
Village Talks are offered by the Greater Newburyport Village for the enrichment of the community. Presentations are held the third Wednesday of each month. A complimentary lunch starting at 11 a.m. is offered by the Friends of the Council on Aging and the Greater Newburyport Village. Register at the senior center.
