Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity puts a spotlight on Carol Pontius, the August 2025 Volunteer of the Month.
Pontius can often be found at the ReStore front counter, where she serves as a cashier with a welcoming smile and a kind word for everyone who comes through the doors. While she has her regular shifts, what truly sets Pontius apart is her willingness to step in when we are in need. Whether it’s filling in for someone at the last minute or picking up an extra shift, she is quick to lend a hand, making sure the ReStore continues to serve our community.
For Pontius, volunteering is all about the people. She loves the chance to connect with customers and fellow volunteers, and those interactions are what keep her coming back.
Originally from California, Pontius spent 30 years in Michigan before settling here in Crossville. She carried with her years of professional experience as an accountant and controller for a large insurance agency, and now she uses that same dedication and attention to detail in her role at the ReStore.
Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity said they are grateful for Pontius’ heart for service. Her commitment reminds them that volunteers are the foundation of everything they do. Join Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity in congratulating Pointius as the Volunteer of the Month for August 2025.
