An Otsego County man, wanted by police, has been taken into custody.
According to a news release from the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, William W. Killenberger, 39, of Worcester, was arrested Friday, Aug. 7 on charges that intentionally caused a vehicle to crash.
Police said the arrest followed an investigation into a report of a crash that occurred on Rabbit Run Road in Westford. The investigation revealed that Killenberger intentionally rear-ended a vehicle at a high rate of speed, causing the victim’s vehicle to roll over. The victim sustained serious physical injury and was transported to Bassett Hospital by Otsego County EMS, the release stated.
After the crash and before the arrival of first responders, Killenberger fled the scene, which resulted in a two-day search for him, the release stated. Killenberger surrendered himself on Aug. 7 at the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and arraigned.
After consultation with the Otsego County District Attorney’s Office, a bail recommendation of $50,000 cash bail, $50,000 credit card or $500,000 surety bond was provided, according to the release.
