Is singing your thing? The Plateau Women’s Chorus is currently auditioning new members and invites you to join this sisterhood of singers.
PWC is a Crossville community chorus that welcomes women from teens to homemakers, professionals and women retired from all walks of life.
Reach out to PWC Director Dana Beal at plateauwomenschorus@gmail.com or phone/text (305) 393-2278 to schedule an audition where you will meet with Dana and talk about your singing experiences.
Auditioners are checked for range and placement within the choir. Music reading ability is highly recommended, and learning tracks are provided.
Potential soloists are asked to sing (a cappella) a passage of their choice.
PWC registration and brunch will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9:30-noon in the old sanctuary at Crossville First Methodist Church at 100 Braun Street.
The registration fee is $45 for the season, with scholarships available upon request. New members pay $25 for an informal uniform PWC polo shirt.
All new singers are assigned a mentor from their section to answer questions and provide support.
Rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesdays, Aug. 27 – Nov. 5, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at Crossville First Methodist Church.
Director Dana Beal and Associate Director Lesley Morrison will lead energizing, creative, inspiring and instructive rehearsals.
Singers strive to improve posture, breathing, vocal range, choral singing, harmonizing and more. The chorus also strives to form community amongst the membership, providing opportunities for social interaction and outreach.
The community children’s chorus, Young Singers of the Plateau, is also auditioning new members. Families of children aged 6-14 are invited to contact director Dana Beal to register their young person.
The YSP meets Thursdays at Crossville First Methodist Church in the old sanctuary at 100 Braun Street from 3:45-4:45 beginning Sept. 5.
The fee is $20 per child, with scholarships available upon request. The Young Singers will perform during the PWC Sunday concerts. Register your child by contacting Dana Beal at plateauwomenschorus@gmail.com or by phone/text at (305) 393-2278.
