PLATTSBURGH — The Planet Fitness Plattsburgh Club in Plattsburgh celebrated its grand re-opening this week following a $1 million remodeling.
The remodel included 15 new cardio pieces, 15 new strength pieces, a PF 360, a new CryoLounge+, remodeled shower area, and 6,500 additional square feet of gym floor.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the new and improved Plattsburgh club just in time to get back to school and back into your fitness routines,” John Hrinda, Vice President of Field Operations at IGNITE Fitness Holdings, a Planet Fitness franchise division said.
“At Planet Fitness, we offer an affordable membership for a high-quality fitness center and welcome anyone, at any fitness level into our friendly, comfortable, and non-intimidating environment. We encourage you to come check out this updated location and see what our unique, Judgement Free Zone® is all about.”
The facility is open and staffed 24 hours a day Monday through Thursday, 12 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
In celebration of the grand opening, Planet Fitness Plattsburgh also organized a food drive for the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Pantry.
“I am excited about the grand reopening of the Planet Fitness Gym in Plattsburgh, a new space that will enhance our community’s health and fitness opportunities,” State Assemblyman D. Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay Lake) said at the re-opening ceremony.
“Staying active is not only good for your physical health, but for your mental health as well, and it is great to have so many options for fitness opportunities in our region. It is also refreshing to have local businesses that show they care- since they opened, Planet Fitness has proven they are committed to helping the North Country community, as seen by the food drive held today for the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Pantry.”
The event was a big success leading to 19 new memberships and was supported the local food bank through generous donations made by members.
“Today marks more than just the reopening of Planet Fitness with its expansion; it’s a celebration of our community coming together to support both wellness and generosity,” Town of Plattsburgh Supervisor Michael Cashman said.
“One could simply open the doors. But instead, Planet Fitness leaned in with heart for the Plattsburgh Interfaith Food Pantry says so much how the company values the community. Here’s to a future where fitness and compassion go hand in hand. Congratulations on this reinvestment in our Town Center.”
