DERRY — The Pinkerton Academy Class of 2026 hosted the 31st Annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Tuesday.
The class officers hosted the breakfast for veterans and their families in the senior cafeteria, which was decorated in memorabilia honoring those who served, Pinkerton Academy senior and communications student Lilliana Cunha said.
Students also helped greet families as they arrived, serve food and listened as veterans shared their stories.
A ceremony was then held to talk about the importance of honoring Veterans Day and members of the Air Force Junior ROTC program gave the presentation of colors while Pinkerton’s Chamber Singers sang the National Anthem.
Head of School Timothy Powers delivered a speech during the ceremony and lead a candle lighting.
“Every veteran I’ve spoken to over the years has so much genuineness to them,” Class President Aryana Decowski said. “Being able to experience a little bit of their hearts this year has been a true gift.”
