PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh High continued its winning ways in boys’ basketball on Thursday with a 69-52 victory over Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play.
“We started off slow and Max Filosca provided a much needed spark off the bench,” PHS coach Chris Hartmann said. “After an adjustment, our defense in the second quarter was unbelievable as we held them to four points.
“It was nice to shoot the ball from behind the arc and Dan Hartmann had a great night on the boards again, finishing with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.”
Filosca led the Hornets with 16 points, while Logan Rodriquez added 15, Cayden Williams 14 and Dan Hartmann 12.
PHS rallied in the second quarter for a 32-21 lead at the half.
Calvin Magoon tossed in 13 points for the Bobcats and was followed by Kingston Tucker with 12 and Austin Lambert 11.

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Griffins connected on 10 three-pointers in the game and continued to have their way against MVAC opponents.
Jackson Hooper finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists for Boquet Valley, while Ben Burdo had 14 points and four assists, Maddox Rice eight points and 12 rebounds, Bode Buehler 11 points and five assists, and Carson Leibeck eight points and three assists.
The Griffins held a 31-22 halftime advantage.
Jaxon Egloff tossed in 20 points, including four three-pointers, for the Eagles and Jace Hubert was next with 14 points.
“This was a good team victory for us,” Boquet Valley coach Colby Pulsifer said. “We came out a bit rusty, but started finding our rhythm halfway through the second quarter.
“Egloff and Hubert played well for Bolton.”

CHAMPLAIN — The Cougars received a balanced scoring attack and rallied in the second half for a CVAC win.
Jordan Brown led the way with 13 points, while Logan Magoon and Max Rabideau each added 10, and Cyle Marshall and Colton Castine with nine each for NCCS.
Alex Swajger played a strong game for the Sentinels with a game-high 19 points. Ticonderoga held a 29-22 halftime lead.
“Ticonderoga came out strong from the tip and played with intensity all game long,” NCCS coach Luke Connell said. “We didn’t handle their half-court defense well in the first half. We made careless mistakes and turned the ball over 15 times in the first half alone.
“However, after halftime, we took better care of the ball and increased our overall intensity.”

SARANAC — The Spartans, trailing 35-21 at the half, went on a 19-0 run in the second half to overtake the Red Storm in CVAC play.
“It was a great high school basketball game,” Saranac coach Mike Recore said. “We were down 14 at the half and made some adjustments at halftime. We were then able to go on a 19-0 run.
“The kids never quit and believed in themselves, which was great to see. They were able to push through some adversity and it paid off.”
Gabe Cayea, Lucas Pierce and Carson Duffield led a balanced Saranac offense with 12 points apiece. Caswell McCoy chipped in with nine markers.
McCoy also had five rebounds, seven assists and four steals, Bryce DeAngelo seven rebounds, Pierce 12 rebounds and four steals, and Duffield six rebounds and four blocks.
Caleb Akey scored a game-high 18 points for Saranac Lake and Melvin Cirikovic followed with 14.

It was a balanced attack for Peru. Trenton Taylor added nine points, Jordan Osborne and Lucas Allen eight apiece, and Nicholas Petro seven. The Nighthawks held a 30-18 halftime lead.
AuSable Valley was paced by Hayden Bombard with 18 points, including four three-pointers, and Dylan Bombard with 13.

Asa Sprague led Keene with a game-high 27 points and poured in five triples in the process.
Vann Morrelli chipped in with 22 points of his own for Keene.
Aiden Pearl powered the Knights with 17 points and 19 rebounds, and is now just five boards away from 1,000 for his career.

Lake Placid held a 37-24 halftime lead.
“We dug ourselves a hole early, but battled back on several occasions only to come up short at the end,” Willsboro coach Eric Arnold said.
“The effort was there but turnovers, defensive breakdowns and failure to secure the defensive glass at crucial times proved to be the difference.”
Harvey Merrill led the Warriors with 16 points, five assists and three steals. Avery Lee followed with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Parker Aubin chipped in with nine points on a trio of three-pointers.
