West Virginia Class AA state champion Petersburg swept the awards on the All-Potomac Valley Conference Division 2 team revealed last week.
Junior third baseman Miley Tingler captured the conference’s Player of the Year honor after batting .574 with 12 home runs, six triples, 17 doubles, 48 runs batted in, 69 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
The Vikings’ Bubba Hedrick was honored as Coach of the Year following a 28-5 season ending with the school’s first state championship.
Tingler is joined on the first team by teammates Ella Markwell, Shyane Tawney and Ella Chew and East Hardy’s Madison Strosnider.
The rest of the first team is made up of Pendleton County’s Susan Vincell and Jessica Parker, Tucker County’s Peyton Hicks and Tygarts Valley’s Emily Smith and Kailen Yokum.
Making the cut on the second team are Gracie Carpenter, Abi Nettles and Kinsley Crites (Petersburg), Jaylynn Combs (East Hardy), Molly Rowe and Kinsley Price (Pendleton County), Bella Loucks (Tucker County) and Isabella Bennett, Audrey Chandler and Desiree Watson (Tygarts Valley).
