PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Kaleb Kuhn, Caden Ours and Payton Metheny combined for 58 points, leading No. 4 Petersburg to a 79-60 win over Hampshire Tuesday.
The Vikings (7-1), who upped their winning streak to six games, led 12-11 after the first quarter, 40-22 at the half and 59-45 after three periods.
Petersburg’s high-scoring trio combined for 23 points during the 28-point second-quarter offensive explosion. Kuhn ended with a game-high 23 points, Ours added 18 and Metheny scored 17.
Metheny hit all 11 of his foul shots, and Petersburg made 17 of 22 as a team.
Hampshire’s Matt Medina tallied a team-high 17 points, and Ayden Crabtree added 13, hitting three 3-pointers.
Petersburg hosts Pendleton County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Hampshire (0-11) welcomes Keyser (4-6) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
No. 3 Fort Hill 73, Morgantown Christian 49
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — After getting their three-game winning streak snapped, No. 3 Fort Hill started a new one Tuesday with a romp of Morgantown Christian.
Fort Hill (6-3) held leads of 17-8, 43-18 and 60-39 following the first three quarters.
Three Sentinels scored in double figures in Sam Spencer (19 points), Liam Hamilton (17) and Jameson Powell-Morris (16). Jacob Bone added eight points, and Spencer hit three 3-pointers.
Andy Rodriguez topped Morgantown Christian (3-3) with 18 points, and Cade Spicer chipped in 11.
Fort Hill is at East Hardy (4-2) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
