CUMBERLAND — Nathaniel Rivera and Bubby Hawley garnered two touchdowns each, and the Personal Best Patriots routed the Southern Rams, 56-0, on Sunday at Greenway Avenue Stadium.
The Patriots (3-0) led 16-0 after the first quarter, 40-0 at the half and 56-0 after three quarters.
Rivera had three rushes for 75 yards, scoring touchdowns on runs of 38 and 22 yards, both in the first quarter.
A pair of Hawley touchdown runs spanning 40 and 25 yards in the second quarter sandwiched a 24-yard Landon Tyson touchdown on the ground.
Landry Harden had six carries for 45 yards, including a there-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Miles Peters, who closed the scoring with a one-yard jaunt in the third period, ended with six rushes for 60 yards.
Karson Harden added five rushes for 60 yards, and JC Lee ran it two times for 26 yards and completed 5 of 6 passes for 65 yards.
Hawley (seven tackles), Jaden Jacobs (five), Kamoni Metz (five) and Brayden Painter (five) led the Patriots’ defense. Landry Harden blocked a punt, Painter recovered a fumble and Karson Harden intercepted a pass.
The Patriots’ offensive line of Jacobs, Brandon Sprull, Garritt Puffenberger, DJ Jones, Painter, Josiah Vaughn, Metz and Richard Gilmore “did a great job all day opening up big holes,” head coach Pat Amezcua said.
The Patriots face the Miners at Westmar Middle School on Saturday at 5 p.m.
