PEABODY — Bishop Fenwick freshman Madelyn McMillan recently received the school’s FIRST Award to recognize her kindness and aptitude for leadership, the school said in a statement.
The FIRST Award is given to Fenwick students who exemplify the core values of the school’s community: faith, integrity, relationship, scholarship and tradition.
McMillan lives in Peabody and graduated from St. Mary’s in Danvers. At Fenwick, she was captain of the JV volleyball and basketball teams this year and has heard the Principal’s List for both quarters so far.
“Madelyn is one of the nicest and friendliest people I know, making her always a pleasure to be around,” wrote the person who nominated her for the award. “Her teachers respect her diligence and motivation. She always shows leadership and has a bright smile on her face. She is a good influence on so many of us, and she represents our Fenwick Family so incredibly well.”
