State Sen. Chuck Payne, R-Dalton, proudly announces his appointment as chairman of the Committee on Veterans, Military & Homeland Security.
Building upon his successful tenure as chairman of the Committee on Science & Technology, Payne is ready to bring his leadership and expertise to new challenges in the realm of veterans, military and homeland security.
Payne stated, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to Lt. Gov. Burt Jones and President Pro Tempore Sen. John F. Kennedy for entrusting me with this important responsibility. I am dedicated to ensuring the safety of Georgia’s citizens in times of disasters, advocating tirelessly for the welfare of our military personnel and streamlining emergency management procedures for the benefit of our residents. Alongside my committee members, I am committed to working diligently to uphold the principles of service that veterans and all Georgia residents deserve.”
The Committee on Veterans, Military & Homeland Security holds general jurisdiction over legislation pertaining to Georgia’s Department of Defense, military personnel, Department of Homeland Security, emergency response organizations and organizations dedicated to serving military veterans.
