The New England Patriots are gangbusters on the field and, well, in your weekly picks.
In the Patriots opener at home against the Las Vegas Raiders, 55 entries out of 400-plus, chose the Raiders
Five weeks later, in New Orleans, only 28 of the near-400 entries picked Saints to beat the Patriots.
I expect the Tennessee Titans picks this Sunday to be under 10 entries, which is like it was when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were here.
Like myself, it’s taken a little time for the believers. But the Patriots have arrived, pouncing on this very easy schedule. And the fact that Drake Maye is looking like a true “kid” franchise quarterback has cemented these feelings.
As for Week 6, I had a great week going until the Sunday night and Monday night double-header, losing all three.
I took the Lions over the Chiefs, thinking recent results would matter, but Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes reverted back to Super Bowl MVP-mode.
And the Bills look like the Patriots messed with their collective heads.
The Patriots point total (25), the first tiebreaker, was a big deal. Remember, anyone that picks more winners than me and gets the Pats total exactly is guaranteed a shirt. That would have been a big number if the Patriots scored 24 points.
All three tiebreakers were needed as all of the T-shirt winners were within one point (24 and 26) of the Pats’ 25, including the number of correct picks, with most winners having 11.
There was a random draw for the last few winners with 10 correct picks.
