Park staff member died Sunday at Flandrau State Park

NEW ULM — A Flandrau State Park staff member died Sunday on the grounds of the park on the southeast edge of New Ulm.
The man’s death was suicide by asphyxiation, Brown County Sheriff Jason Seidl said.
Deputies responded to a 5:59 p.m. call reporting the incident, Seidl said.
Flandrau’s sand-bottom swimming facility has closed for the season — about three weeks ahead of schedule. The Department of Natural Resources’ website states no staff is available to operate the facility at this time.
