SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Frankfort’s Lanson Orndorf hurled a complete game and had four hits at the plate to lead his team to a 7-0 victory over Fairmont Senior on Saturday.
The University of Charleston (West Virginia) signee Orndorf tossed seven shutout innings of two-hit ball. He struck out 10 and walked two.
At the plate, Orndorf was 4 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Jesus Perdew singled three times, and Braeden Laffey had two RBIs.
Braeden Sharps took the loss for the Polar Bears, allowing seven runs (three earned) on 11 hits in 5 1/3 frames of work.
Frankfort (3-1) is at Berkeley Springs on Monday at 7 p.m.
Southern 18 Tucker County 0
OAKLAND — Reece Tasker and Jaxon Glotfelty combined for a no-hitter in Southern’s five-inning rout of Tucker County on Saturday.
Perhaps more remarkable was Southern’s 18-run victory on just three base hits, aided by 18 walks and one hit batter issued by Tucker County’s four pitchers.
Southern’s arsenal of arms faired much better, as Tasker faced the minimum retiring all nine batters he faced with six strikeouts for the win.
Glotfelty threw two shutout, no-hit innings in relief with six strikeouts and three walks.
Ryan Bird doubled and had two RBIs for Southern, and Andy McCartney, Cade Leader and Cole Parks drove in three runs each.
Owen Bolyard was the losing pitcher for Tucker County.
Southern (3-1, 1-1 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) is at Fort Hill (2-0-1, 2-0 WestMAC) on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
