CUMBERLAND — Liam Buck tallied three hits and four RBIs as Cumberland Optimist defeated Riverside Sports, 10-6, in a senior rec league matchup Monday at Washington Middle School.
Buck doubled along with Jake Rice, who also tripled. Dakota Shambaugh added a triple and Braedon Laffey went 2 for 3.
Gage Swain was the winning pitcher, allowing a run on two hits in four innings of relief.
Korbin McKenzie and Trent Lapp doubled for Riverside. Lapp and Korbin and Eli McKenzie had two base hits each.
Carson Durst took the loss on the mound.
Optimist (2-2) has a doubleheader against Northern at Grantsville Park on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Riverside (6-2) battles Mettiki Coal at Southern High on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

CUMBERLAND — Northern scored 11 runs over the final two innings in a rout of Growden Heating and Cooling on Monday at Allegany High School.
Bailey Turner led the way for Northern (7-2) going 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Elliott Meyers-Shirer also doubled twice, and Blake Spiker and Paxton Julio had a two-bagger apiece.
Hunter Beitzel recorded the win on the mound, allowing a run on one hit in three frames of middle relief.
Cam Hook took the loss for Growden (3-6).
Growden took on American Woodmark on Tuesday evening at Westmar Middle School.
Northern hosts a doubleheader with Optimist at Grantsville Park on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Mettiki 10 Woodmark 2
OAKLAND — Dane Van Slyke garnered three base hits, scored three times and drove in a pair, and Mettiki Coal bested American Woodmark on Monday at Southern High School.
Ryan Bird also had a multi-hit game for Mettiki (6-3), and Bryson Bennett and Jaxon Glotfelty had two RBIs each.
Mettiki’s Jacob Welch and Blake Burrell both struck out five over three innings of work each.
Mettiki hosts Riverside at Southern on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Woodmark welcomed Growden at Westmar on Tuesday evening.
