A late rally by the Oneonta baseball team fell short on Monday as the Yellowjackets dropped a 7-5 decision at home to Windsor.
Trailing 7-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, OHS cut the deficit to two on a bases-clearing double by Nolan Stark and brought the tying run to the plate but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Jameson Brown had a two-run single at the plate while Bruce Mistler struck out four batters in six-plus innings.
Oneonta and Windsor are scheduled to play two more games this week with the next being at Windsor on Wednesday.
Sidney 8, Greene 7
Sidney picked up a Midstate Athletic Conference win on Monday, defeating Greene 8-7 on a ninth-inning walk-off error.
Quinton Beckwith had a double for the Sabers while striking out eight batters in three-plus innings on the mound. Elijah Wright added a triple at the plate.
Sidney (3-2) will host Oxford on Tuesday.
Schenevus 18, Worcester 4
Schenevus used a 13-run first inning to roll past rival Worcester 18-4 in a Tri-Valley League contest on Monday.
Cody Keator, Ryan Spranger and Brayden Poliseno combined to allow just two hits in five innings for the Dragons. At the plate, Sawyer Bridger had a triple while Austin Tilley and Orrin Clements each had doubles.
Schenevus (5-0) will host Laurens/Milford on Thursday while Worcester (0-2) will host Richfield Springs next Monday.
Bainbridge-Guilford 12, Gilboa/Roxbury 2
Bainbridge-Guilford went on the road Monday and notched a 12-2 non-league win over Gilboa/Roxbury.
Parker Buttice drove in five runs for the Bobcats with the big blow coming on a grand slam in the seventh inning. Buttice, Jaxson McGraw and Connor Davy each had doubles while Kaiden Seymour racked up 11 strikeouts as the winning pitcher.
Burton Strauch went 2-for-4 at the dish for Gilboa/Roxbury.
B-G (4-1) will host Afton/Harpursville on Tuesday while G/R (1-2) will be at Middleburgh on Tuesday.
Unatego/Franklin 6, Greene 4 (Friday)
A six-run third inning proved to be enough for Unatego/Franklin to defeat Greene 6-4 on Friday.
Xander Johnson, Chase Simonds, Tristan Fairbairn and Carter Ross all had multi-hit games for U/F while Josh Sargent added a double.
Brayden Nichols earned the win on the mound, striking out eight in five-and-a-third innings while allowing three hits and three walks.
U/F (5-0) will be off until next Tuesday when it will visit Schoharie.

The Oneonta softball team fell at home to Windsor 7-3 on Monday.
Logan Jipson had a triple and a run scored, Madyson Imperato went 2-for-3 with a run and Bella Pelligra notched an RBI single.
Jenevie Gallusser struck out six batters in the circle for OHS.
Oneonta (2-2) will host Delhi on Wednesday.
Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs 18, Worcester 1
Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs tossed a combined one-hitter in Monday’s 18-1 victory over Worcester.
Bailey Thayer and Emily Fox were dominant in the circle, combining for 15 strikeouts while allowing just one walk in addition to the lone base hit.
At the plate, Lexi Dygert went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI and Fox went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI.
CV-S/SS (3-1) will host Laurens/Milford on Tuesday while Worcester (1-3) will be at home against Franklin the same day.
