The Oneonta track and field team swept a home dual meet against Windsor on Wednesday.
The girls won by a score of 130-9 and the boys triumphed 118-21.
Josie Scanlon, Becky Foko and Keiyra Morton led the OHS girls with three wins apiece. Scanlon won the 800 and 1500 meter runs, Foko took first in the shot put and discus and Morton won both the long jump and triple jump.
Oneonta’s other individual winners on the girls side were Alex Broodie (100 hurdles), Cassidy Howard (100), Natalie Wilde (400), Jaelyn Privitera (400 hurdles), Amairh Morrison (200), Adella Koehn (3000), Aubry Microni (high jump) and Sasha Sloth (pole vault).
Darren Rose was a double-winner for the OHS boys with victories in the long jump and triple jump.
Others finding the winners’ podium were Beckett Holmes (110 hurdles), Noah Cotter (100), Jackson Forbes (1600), Liam Rowe (400), William Foko (400 hurdles), Keyon Ziaie (800), Eli Wilms (200), Donovan Lema (3200), Julien Quick (high jump) and Logan Temming (pole vault).
Oneonta will head to Windsor on Friday for the Gerry O’Donnell Invitational.
BASEBALL
Sidney 16, Walton/Downsville 3
Sidney scored nine runs in the sixth inning to put away a 16-3 home win against Walton/Downsville on Wednesday.
Kaleb Monroe and Jaxen Swain each drove in a pair of runs for the Sabers while Swain, Quinton Beckwith and Riley Finch all had doubles. Beckwith was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters in six innings.
Grayson Palmer finished with four strikeouts in four-plus innings for W/D.
Sidney (5-4) will be at Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday while W/D (1-6) will visit Afton/Harpursville the same day.
Delhi 4, Oxford 2
Delhi recovered from an early two-run deficit to defeat Oxford 4-2 on the road Wednesday in Midstate Athletic Conference action.
Isaac Marsiglio struck out 11 batters in six innings and added a triple at the plate. Lucas Nealis had two hits including a double while Bronson Thomson also had two hits.
Landon Olinski registered a triple for the Blackhawks.
Delhi (3-3) will host Deposit-Hancock on Friday while Oxford (3-7) will visit Greene on Thursday.
Gilboa/Roxbury 11, Laurens/Milford 1
Gilboa/Roxbury rolled to an 11-1 non-league road win against Laurens/Milford on Wednesday.
Brayden Carr and Garrison Ross combined to allow just one hit in five innings, with Ross striking out six batters as the winning pitcher.
At the plate, Gavin Bohringer went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI, Carr was 2-for-3 with an RBI and David Cammer added a triple.
Clark Smith had the only hit for L/M while Todd Bowen drove in the team’s lone run.
Gilboa/Roxbury improves to 3-4 while Laurens/Milford drops to 5-4.
