Hill City Celebrations has announced that the city of Oneonta Department of Public Works won first place for its display in the Festival of Lights.
Each winner received a matching amount to give to a charity of their choice.
According to Connie Herzig, Hill City board chairperson, DPW chose the Swart-Wilcox House as its charity to receive a matching $500 prize.
The Benson Agency won second place and donated its $300 matching prize to The Lord’s Table.
Two groups tied for third place. Temple Beth El also donated its matching prize of $200 to The Lord’s Table. DMac Rentals donated its matching prize to the Oneonta Soccer Club for league scholarships.
Cleinman Performance Partners donated the prize money.
More than 40 community organizations and businesses created displays for the event Neahwa Park, along with 16 displays created by Hill City.
