LAKE PLACID — The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority joins the worldwide celebration of Olympic Day on Monday to offer programming and a full calendar of summer activities that aim to inspire movement for all ages in Lake Placid, a two-time Olympic host city.
An initiative launched by the International Olympic Committee in 2023, Olympic Day is a global invitation to get active, connect and have fun.
This year’s theme of “Let’s Move” encourages participants to bring a friend and move together.
Olympic Day Activities
Make Your Own Friendship Bracelet — Hosted by the Lake Placid Olympic Museum from noon to 4 p.m. in the Empire Room.
Create Olympic-inspired friendship bracelets with Team USA athletes, learn about the Olympic values — excellence, respect and friendship — and discover how sports can help build a better, more peaceful world.
Celebration Moves Social Challenge — Recreate iconic athlete poses or show off your favorite dance moves. Share on social media with @Olympics and #LetsMove to help inspire movement around the world.
Keep Moving with the Olympic Authority
In addition to Olympic Day, the Olympic Authority offers a full slate of active summer programming across its venues — inviting everyone to move, explore and enjoy the unique spirit of the Olympic Region:
