RADA, W.Va. — An Old Fields man was killed Tuesday afternoon after driving his pickup truck into the path of a tractor-trailer on U.S. Route 220 in Hampshire County.
The Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Swick, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:17 p.m. crash.
Authorities said Swick was turning onto Route 220 from Blackburn Road when the accident occurred.
Dale Caplinger, the driving of the tractor-trailer, was not seriously hurt.
First responders from Burlington, Romney and Hampshire County EMS responded to the scene, as did medical examiner Chris Guynn.
