Suffering a heart-breaking loss in the Division 1 state tourney opener on Monday, Whittier Tech showed all kinds of heart on Thursday, bouncing back to dominate the State Vocational tourney semifinal over Bristol-Plymouth, 10-2.
Knotted at 2-2 through three innings, the Wildcats got the bats going with two in the fourth, four in the fifth and two more in the sixth to put it away.
Maddie Noury powered the attack from the leadoff spot with a homer, single, two runs scored and five RBIs. Kayden Ouellette also homered and drove in a pair.
Callie Nadeau had three of the Wildcats’ 14 hits on the day. Kaylee Habib and Ayva Hamlett each had a pair.
Habib pitched the win, a six-hitter with a walk and nine strikeouts.
The Wildcats host Bay Path Regional for the title on Monday afternoon.
