MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — No. 1 Northern swept its fifth straight opponent, winning 27-25, 25-16 and 25-12 at Trinity Christian on Friday.
“We gift wrapped several points for our gracious hosts,” Northern head coach Jamie Bailey said. “Over six missed serves and more hitting errors in the first set. Trinity’s defense was on fire. Once my hitters turned on, they still had trouble finding the hardwood. We just had to out-last them for every point.”
Violet Taylor finished with 16 digs, two aces and two assists for the Huskies (5-0).
Samara Streets recorded seven kills, three aces and two digs.
Marisa Perez posted 18 assists and 5 digs while Allahna Lacy had two aces, five kills and two blocks.
The Huskies won the junior varsity game 25-13 and 25-8.
Mazzy Morel had six aces and seven assists while Lillian Lawson had six aces and two digs.
Northern hosts Allegany (3-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
