DANVERS — Northeast Arc, a not-for-profit organization that helps children and adults with disabilities or autism become full participants in the community, announces its 55th annual Mike Frangos Commodore Invitational Golf Tournament will be held at the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton on Monday, Sept. 16.
Limited sponsorships and foursomes for the event which is held on one of the most exclusive golf courses in the country are available. Join presenting sponsor HUB International of New England in support of the oldest golf tournament in the country
In addition to playing the course, which is ranked as one of the best in the country by Golf Digest, the day includes lunch, dinner, a silent auction, and remarks from one of the participants in the Northeast Arc’s Steps To Independence program.
“This year we will be presenting two awards at the event,” said Jo Ann Simons, president and CEO of Northeast Arc. “The Mike Frangos award, presented in honor of the tournament’s founder will be presented to media personality and longtime Northeast Arc advocate, Kim Carrigan.”
Carrigan serves as emcee for many Northeast Arc events, including the golf tournament, according to Simons.
“I’m thrilled that the committee decided to recognize her. I was also delighted to surprise Kim with the news during a recent appearance on her podcast, Carrigan & Company,” Simons said.
A new wrinkle to this year’s tournament is the Tripp Hargrave award, according to Simons.
“This award is dedicated to the memory of longtime Northeast Arc supporter and golfer, Tripp Hargrave. The cup will be presented to the winning foursome to keep for the year. It will be engraved with the name of the winning foursome and presented to them at the event each year moving forward,” Simons said.
