The 8th annual Fourth of July Kids Bike Parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Pine Woods Park, Niagara and Thompson streets, and head west on Thompson. The route will end at the Herschel Carousel Museum. The entire event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon. All are welcome to participate.
Kids can enjoy rides in Kiddieland at the Carousel Museum and ice cream will be served. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers and so on, and wear their most patriotic outfits to celebrate America’s birthday.
The grand marshall of this year’s parade will be WWII veteran William “Bill” Gosch, a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda.
“The Kids’ Bike Parade represents a great slice of Americana and is a tremendous way for families to kick-off their 4th of July festivities,” said Niagara County Legislator Rich Andress, who organizes the parade. “This is our 8th year hosting this event and every year participation gets a little bigger. I’m looking forward to another great turnout and seeing all the bikes decorated in red, white and blue”.
