KASOTA — A North Mankato man suffered non-life-threatening injuries Monday after the car he was driving left Highway 99 and entered the Minnesota River near Kasota.
Around 11:30 a.m. Omar Said Khulatain, 60, was traveling westbound on Highway 99 in a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant, when he lost control and landed in the river, the State Patrol reports.
It happened near County Road 45 in Kasota Township and road conditions were reported as dry. Khulatain was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
