OAKLAND — No. 4 Southern concluded its season with a 6-1 rout of Clear Spring on Saturday.
The Rams (8-5-1) received two-goal performances from Sydney Scott, Emily Sweitzer and Jayden Weaver.
Scott and Sweitzer opened the scoring off assists from Reeslyn Sisler (31:23) and Weaver (12:44), respectively. Lexi Matthews brought Clear Spring within 2-1 at the break by scoring in the 28th minute.
Weaver scored twice in the half, one unassisted (38:50) and one assisted by Sweitzer (34:03), Sweitzer found the back of the net unassisted with 37:19 to play, and Scott closed the scoring off a Norah Musselman pass with 9:01 on the clock.
Southern finished with a 36-4 edge in shots and 13-0 margin in corner kicks.
Clear Spring keeper Alyssalynn Barr had 18 saves. Southern’s Abi Teets was tasked with one.
A coin toss will determine if Southern or Northern is the No. 3 seed in the Class 1A West Region I playoffs. Both open up at home on Wednesday in the region quarterfinals.
