CUMBERLAND — Braelyn Younger and No. 2 Fort Hill delivered a record-setting performance, routing No. 3 Allegany, 57-13, in Homecoming on Saturday.
Fort Hill (6-3) set the Homecoming/Turkey Day game single-game scoring record in just one half, which it led at 57-0. The 44-point margin of victory was also the largest in the 89-year history of the matchup.
The win is Fort Hill’s 17th in a row in Homecoming and its 22nd straight over Allegany (4-5) overall. The Sentinels lead the series 69-32-4 (57-29-3 Homecoming/Turkey Day).
Fort Hill played the entire running-clock-shortened second half with its backups in.
Younger, who was voted Offensive Player of the Game, rushed for 203 yards and five touchdowns on just 11 carries, all in the first half. His rushing total broke Tyreke Powell’s single-game record of 187 set in 2017, and his five scores tied the high mark established by Jabril Daniels in 2023.
Carson Bender added 47 yards and a score on six runs, and Noah House had five totes for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Fort Hill’s Kyler Miller earned Defensive Player of the Game honors, leading a first-team unit that held Allegany to a paltry minus 12 yards of total offense and zero first downs during the first half.
Allegany didn’t convert a first down until the third quarter.
Fort Hill’s AJ Adams had a 30-yard scoop-and-score, and Christian Riley, Miller, Dylan Leatherman and Parker Beck all recovered Alco fumbles.
Allegany’s Aidyn Mckenzie put the Campers on the board with a 46-yard touchdown run against the Fort Hill subs. Alex Spriggs added a 44-yard fumble return for a score.
Sully Watkins and DJ Riley also recovered loose balls put on the turf by Fort Hill’s second-string backs.
Further coverage of the game will be online this weekend and in Monday’s print edition of the Times-News.
