LAVALE — Jordyn Sneathen tossed a one-hit shutout to power No. 1 Allegany past Mountain Ridge, 7-0, for its 11th straight win.
The Campers (12-1, 5-0 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) scored three runs in the first inning and added four in the third.
Sneathen, a St. Francis signee, tossed seven shutout frames with 12 strikeouts to five walks for the win in the circle.
Sneathen, Mykah Baker and Savannah Walton doubled, and Walton and Baker had two runs batted in apiece.
Destinee Johnson was tabbed with the loss for Mountain Ridge (4-8, 0-3 WestMAC).
Allegany hosts Somerset, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Mountain Ridge hosts Southern (5-6, 0-3 WestMAC) on Tuesday at 1 p.m. and heads to Hancock the same day in a 4:45 p.m. first pitch.
Frankfort drops 2
SHINNSTON, W.Va. — Frankfort was swept in a doubleheader Friday, falling to Lincoln, 7-5, and St. Marys, 11-8, at Lincoln High.
Against the hosts, the Falcons (11-9) led 4-0 after the first inning. Lincoln scored five runs over the next two and broke a 5-all tie with two in the fifth frame.
Riley Lynch doubled, and Dayahna Imes, Jordan-Marie Owens, Sydney Robosson and Raygan Grogg singled twice each for the Falcons.
Frankfort’s Peyton Kimble pitched a complete game in defeat, allowing seven runs (three earned) on seven hits in six innings of work.
Addison Moore tripled for Lincoln, and Brogan Sampson and Kerstyn Leggett doubled.
Frankfort fell behind 7-1 to St. Marys after four innings. The Falcons battled within two runs twice but couldn’t make up the difference.
Imes had three hits, Owens went 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, Robosson singled twice and drove in a pair, and Grogg and Elizabeth Crowe both had multi-hit games.
Kimble was tabbed with the loss for Frankfort.
St. Marys’ Alyssa Winland tripled, and Brylee McGrady doubled.
