CUMBERLAND — Live music will be featured at Constitution Park on Sunday evening with local band Night Traveler performing.
The band will bring its mix of classic rock, country and original music to the park amphitheater beginning at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Sunday in the Park Concert Series.
Formed in 2012 as a duo, Night Traveler consists of Greg Larry on lead guitar and vocals and Gary Price on rhythm guitar and vocals. In 2022 the band added bassist Terry Mullaney, who had previously played in the popular local group Windfall in the 1980s and 90s.
“We’re excited to be playing at the park,” Larry said. “We’ve played there several times in the past and always enjoyed it. The amphitheater is a special place in Cumberland.”
For Sunday’s show, the band will include Kevin Lloyd on drums and Craig Miller on percussion.
Night Traveler plays originals and covers by such artists as James Taylor, Johnny Cash, Alabama, The Beatles, Paul Simon and Nick Lowe.
Larry has written numerous original songs over the years. Currently in the band’s rotation is “The Burning Flame,” written in 2017 about the silver lining sometimes found during difficult times.
The concert is sponsored by the city of Cumberland and will conclude at 9 p.m. Although benches are available, city officials urge attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets for additional seating.
