The Niagara Military Affairs Council (NMAC) was on hand to represent the interests of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS) at the Association of Defense Communities conference held this past week in Washington DC.
With a changing of the guard in many senior positions within the military, the summit holds significant importance as new leaders shape the future priorities and strategies of the armed forces, directly impacting installations like NFARS and defense communities nationwide.
At the conference, attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from these new leaders as they begin to lay out their vision for the future of the armed forces.
The insights gained from these discussions will be instrumental in guiding NMAC’s advocacy efforts on behalf of NFARS and its surrounding community. States across the country are also placing a renewed emphasis on supporting their defense sectors.
New legislation and executive actions have led to the establishment of programs aimed at bolstering defense-related infrastructure, manufacturing, and enhancing the quality of life for military families and veterans. Additionally, partnerships in areas such as climate and land use are being forged to ensure sustainable and resilient defense communities.
Attendees at the conference heard from state leaders who are at the forefront of these efforts, providing valuable insights into how they are redefining what it means to be military-friendly.
“The conference presents a vital opportunity for us to advocate for the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and to gain valuable insights into the future direction of the armed forces,” said John Cooper, Sr, NIMAC chairman. “We are committed to ensuring that NFARS remains a cornerstone of our community and that it continues to receive the support it deserves.”
As NMAC joins fellow advocates and leaders in the defense community at the Association of Defense Communities conference, its presence underscores the importance of collaboration and advocacy in supporting our nation’s defense installations and the communities that depend on them.
