Niagara Gospel Mission has been named the Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce 2026 Member of the Year, recognizing the mission’s expanding impact across Niagara County — particularly through its enhanced Code Blue winter outreach efforts and the Re-Deploy Veterans Program.
The award honors Niagara Gospel Mission’s ongoing commitment to serving vulnerable populations, supporting veterans, and strengthening the community through compassionate, faith-driven service. Chamber leadership cited the Mission’s recent program growth, community engagement, and consistent partnership as key factors in the selection.
“This recognition reflects the collective work of many people,” said the Rev. John Cooper, executive director of Niagara Gospel Mission. “None of this happens without our volunteers, ministry partners, donors, and dedicated staff who serve faithfully every day. We are grateful for this honor, but ultimately, all glory belongs to the Lord. Our prayer is that this award simply shines a light on what God is doing through so many willing hands and hearts.”
Niagara Gospel Mission expressed gratitude to its volunteers and community partners whose sacrificial support makes life-saving outreach, recovery programming, and veteran services possible throughout the region.
The Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce praised the mission for being a strong and engaged Chamber partner, noting its meaningful contributions to both the business community and the broader public good.
Niagara Gospel Mission was formally recognized alongside other outstanding organizations and individuals in our region at the Chamber’s Awards Celebration on Feb. 12.
