Niagara has added two point guards in the transfer portal.
The Purple Eagles secured commitments from guards Trenton Walters and Reggie Prudhomme Jr., adding to the two forwards who committed Tuesday.
Walters is a 5-foot-9 guard who played sparingly at Radford in his first college season before transferring to Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College, the same school they found former guard Braxton Bayless from three years ago. Walters averaged a team-high 10.7 points and 3.8 assists there.
The Frisco, Texas native who attended national prep powerhouse La Lumiere shot 47.1% from the field and 41.2% from 3-point range in 32 games last season. He also added 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game as Indian Hills went 27-6 and advanced to the NJCAA Division I tournament.
Prudhomme began his career at Murray State College, a JUCO, before transferring to Division II Cameron University in Oklahoma. The 6-foot guard averaged 9.8 points, 4.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 83 games over three seasons.
The third Division II player Niagara has found in the portal, Prudhomme never averaged fewer than 9.4 points at Cameron, posting 9.5 points, 5.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds last season. He shot 38.3% from the floor, 34.2% from 3-point range and 81% from the free-throw line.
