Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, in partnership with ConnectLife, will host a flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m. on Thursday to honor the selfless individuals who have given the gift of life through organ and tissue donation, as well as to recognize those whose lives have been saved and improved through transplantation.
The ceremony will bring together hospital leadership, staff, community members, and donor families in a shared moment of reflection, gratitude, and awareness.
“We honor the incredible generosity of donors and their families, whose decisions—often made in the most difficult moments — have brought hope, healing, and second chances to so many,” said Robert Orlowski, business development manager.
Organ and tissue donation remains a critical need across the country. A single donor can save multiple lives and improve many more, making the act of donation one of the most powerful expressions of compassion and humanity.
The ceremony will also recognize transplant recipients, whose stories serve as living reminders of the life-changing impact of donation.
“Each recipient represents a second chance at life,” Orlowski said. “Their journeys reflect the lasting legacy of those who chose to give.”

The ceremony will take place outside the hospital lobby at 610 10th St. at the adjacent flagpole. Refreshments will be served in the hospitals auditorium immediately after the presentation.
