The Niagara County Production Program, which provides matching grants up to $50,000 to manufacturers for the purchase of equipment and machinery, was launched on Monday.
The county legislature approved the use of up to $1 million of local Covid recovery funding, through the American Rescue Plan Act, to help local manufacturers “create efficiencies”, economic development commissioner Mike Casale told the Union-Sun & Journal previously. Eligible manufacturers will have to abide by ARPA requirements including proving that their business was affected by the pandemic and that they’re making use of green technology, trying to break into new markets, hiring and/or raising skill levels of employees.
For more information about the production program, download the application packet at www.niagaracountybusiness.com, “incentives” tab. The packet includes submission timelines and further eligibility requirements.
A virtual orientation webinar on the program is slated for 5 p.m. Thursday. Key components will be covered and a Q-&-A session is included. There’s no charge. Register for the webinar at www.niagaracountybusiness.com/niagara-county-production-program.
