A 40-year-old Newfane man is in custody following a Wednesday stabbing incident in Olcott.
Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of 5927 Main St. about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a stabbing. Arriving deputies located a man suffering from several laceration wounds.
The victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment.
Several hours later, the sheriff’s office announced the arrest of Kevin C. Ferber, 40, of Newfane, who was taken into custody about 4:15 p.m.
Ferber was charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing. He was taken to the Niagara County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
No other information on the incident was provided by the sheriff’s office.
