Last weekend, some of the best high school track athletes from across the entire country were in Brighton for the annual New Balance Nationals, which this year was held at the TRACK at New Balance.
And among them were 14 stars from Newburyport.

The Newburyport girls also raced in the shuttle hurdle relay, with the unit of Phoebe Li Eyink, Blaire Fox, Madison Butler and Emily Homer crossing in 13th out of 17 championship teams (36.5). The mixed 4×400 relay squad of William Downs, Penelope Fuentes, John Murray and Homer took 27th (3:58.83), and Nordeen Fadil took 39th out of 62 runners in the Freshman Mile with a season-best time (4:37.98).
