New Richland farmer dies in grain bin accident
NEW RICHLAND — A 75-year-old man died Monday in rural New Richland after getting trapped in a grain bin on his farm.
The wife of Michael Supalla called 911 at approximately 11:20 a.m. after she was was unable to make contact with her husband, who was inside an overhead bin containing corn, according to the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office, New Richland Police Department, New Richland Fire & Rescue, Waseca Fire & Rescue, Ellendale Fire & Rescue and North Memorial Ambulance personnel responded, but Supalla was pronounced dead at the scene.
